In this new article, we will discuss what will happen and what you should expect after consuming abortion pills. Many people think that Abortion pills are the safest way to terminate an unwanted pregnancy and it will be a Pain-free solution. Well, there are many different opinions on this topic, and it can be a debatable discussion.

 

Abortion is divided into two parts, medical induced abortion and Surgical Abortion. Here, we are going to discuss medically induced abortion (using pills). People think that this kind of abortion is the safest and easiest way to terminate the pregnancy then let me be very clear, it is as painful as miscarriage, and even there is a certain period of time till then only you can consume this medicine. There are a certain set of rules, which need to be followed and particular outcomes which you need to get prepared for.

Basically, every set of Abortion Pills contains Chemical salts named Mifepristone and Misoprostol. These salts will work for hand in hand to stop the flow of hormone required for Healthy Pregnancy called Progesterone. As this medicine blocks the flow of progesterone, the lining of the uterus starts to shed off, which causes severe cramps and bleeding after consumption of the pills.

 

You must be mentally prepared before consuming any abortion pill, and consult your doctor first as they can guide you better considering your health condition and can suggest you the best suitable option among the tons of pills available in the market. As I said, you must be mentally prepared it was not said to scare you but just to give you a suggestion that you will need proper bed rest, sleep and you need to take care of yourself for the coming 2-3 weeks.

 

Once you consume the 1st pill from the set of 4-5 pills (as it will differ from brand to brand), you will start experiencing light cramps in your stomach and spotting. You have to consume these meds after your meal; otherwise, it would cause serious repercussions on your blood pressure levels. In the set of 5 Pills, there are a few pills that need to be consumed orally while a few to be inserted vagianally. After 2nd pill, (this is usually suggested by your doctor when to consume) you will feel severe cramps and big blood clots in bleeding as your uterus is getting emptied. For most people, bleeding lasts for 4-5 hrs, till the pregnancy tissue comes out. Still, you will feel the cramps on and off for the next 3-4 days, while periods be continued for a week or so. 

 

At last, when you are done with all pills and steps suggested by Doctors, you will be suggested for an ultrasound or blood test. These tests are required to check whether the abortion is successful or not.
